Starlink internet – Need approval from DoT India

Elon Musk Company SpaceX need a proper license from the (DoT) Department of Telecommunication in India before offering internet service to Indian customers. Government has no issue with the company but the government want to ensure that the company explain its plan for India before stepping into the Indian market.

Starlink broadband service is currently in the beta testing phase and its service in the US is live now. For India Company is taking pre-orders from its website.

According to the latest news company has launched 1300 satellites in the orbit and was granted permission from US Federal Communication Commission (FCC) to launch 2814 satellites in the lower orbits which is good news for internet users because it provides much faster broadband signals.

The company claims that it providing internet broadband speed between 50 Mbps to 150Mbps which is expected to double soon to 300Mbps. Speed test is done by different users reported on the internet that average speed is 40-45Mbps.

Elon Musk says in reply to one of question about mobility on Twitter that “yeah, should be fully mobile later this year, so you can move it anywhere or use on an RV or truck in motion. We need a few satellite launches to achieve complete coverage and some key software upgrades”.
